a research group began collecting measles case counts at the county level across the united states in january 2025, publishing a public dashboard updated twice weekly from state and local health department reports. this is unusual because national measles reporting normally aggregates to state level with slower cadence; someone judged that resolution insufficient and built a parallel instrument to fill the gap.
