the us-iran ceasefire that began june 17 collapsed mid-july; the us reinstated a naval blockade of iranian ports and struck more than 80 targets, cutting 4,200 megawatts from iran's power grid during a record heatwave. iran responded by firing drones and missiles at kuwait and bahrain, igniting a fire at a kuwaiti power and water plant. this is a direct energy-infrastructure war on both sides of the gulf — civilian power systems are now primary targets, which is structurally different from strikes on military assets.
